Selworthy School enjoy training session at the CACG
The third element of our four-part annual education programme with Selworthy School took place last week.
The latest phase of the initiative saw nearly 20 learners take part in a two-hour fun cricket session in the Centre of Excellence at the Cooper Associates County Ground.
Tom Abell, Paul van Meekeren and CEO Andrew Cornish were all on hand to help Somerset Cricket Board Community Coach, Andrew Skidmore deliver the fun cricket session.
After the session Andrew Jolley, a teaching assistant at the school, said: “It went very, very well and the children had an absolute ball! Days like this are very important because it gets the children out of the school and gets them out and about in the community. It’s really important that the children are doing things physically and actively which they have been today with the experts at Somerset County Cricket Club. It was wonderful to see the captain of Somerset and the other players with the children. That kind of thing makes a real difference.”
